Anderson Island, Washington

Features of the Island
Bonds' Place is located in the Riviera Country Club adjacent to Interlaaken Park, which has a tennis court, children's playground, and swimming area. We have a canoe available for our guests to use on Lake Josephine, the "quiet lake." Besides two fresh-water lakes, Anderson Island has a general store, two restaurants providing casual dining, a nine-hole golf course, Riviera Marina, Oro Bay Yacht Club, and a number of delightful hiking trails including Andy's Marine Park.

Anderson Island is approximately five miles long and three miles wide with paved roads throughout. Within walking or biking distance are a community church, the Historical Society Museum, and craft and gift shops. Peace reigns supreme at Bonds' Place on Anderson Island. From the moment you set foot on the ferry, you will sense the difference between the mainland hustle and bustle and the slower, tranquil pace of island life.

Directions to the Island

To reach Anderson Island, take I-5 to Exit 119, the Dupont-Steilacoom Exit. Follow the signs to Steilacoom Dock (about 7 miles), where ferry tickets are purchased. Ferries leave regularly from 6am to 6pm, with later evening trips on weekends and holidays. The ride takes approximately 20 minutes, during which time you'll be able to drink in the scenic beauty of the Sound, the Olympics, and majestic Mt. Rainier. Upon arrival at Anderson Island, drive directly up the hill to Eckenstam-Johnson Road (just past the Community Church). Bear left, and continue south to the Island General Store on your right. Then turn left on Lake Josephine Boulevard and follow to Oro Place (approximately seven intersections, and at the bottom of an obvious dip in the road). Turn left again and go one block (end of road) and turn right on Narrows Drive. Bonds' Place is the second house on the left after you make the turn.
